Amazon Studios have announced that their major new streaming series, The Lord of the Rings, will premiere on 2 September, 2022.
This is an enormous project for Amazon Studios, especially considering the immense fanfare attached to the franchise.
Amazon announced the series premiere in a press release.

The yet to be titled The Lord of the Rings series will be helmed by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay.
This series will feature a star-studded cast, including: Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Lloyd Owen, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman, and Sara Zwangobani.
