This crazy time of pandemic and isolation has had devastating effects on many industries and people. The gaming industry is no different to any other. The COVID-19 pandemic has seen many games postponed or pushed-back while events have been cancelled around the world. The biggest of these is E3, the yearly event which is usually accompanied with the biggest announcements. E3, which was originally scheduled for June 9-11, was officially cancelled for 2020 only a few weeks ago.
Thankfully, Summer Game Fest has stepped in to fill the holes that 2020’s cancelled events have left. Summer Game Fest is a digital event and an “Industry-wide celebration of video games”. The event will run from May to August, with guest appearances, interviews, upcoming game announcements, product updates and more.
