Movies are one of those past times that tie people,the world over, together. Considering how much we all adore cinema, it’s no surprise that we’re interested in which movie has performed the best throughout the mediums history.
Well, to save you the trouble of an extensive internet search, we have compiled a list of the top 10 Highest Grossing Movies of All-Time. We will be showing you two lists. 1 is a list of gross dollars (the exact amount they brought in), and the second is a list of movies which have been adjusted for inflation.
The below list will tell you the Top 10 Highest Grossing Movies of All-Time from a box-office takings point of view. For a list that’s been adjusted for inflation, scroll a little bit further to the bottom.
10. Frozen II

To say Frozen was a smash hit would perhaps be the decades biggest understatement. Therefore, it came as no surprise that Frozen II destroyed several box office records. The magical children’s animated film is adored throughout the world and brought in a whopping payday for Disney.
9. Furious 7

Fast and the Furious is the franchise that just keeps on giving. Furious 7 features a crazy high-profile cast, including Dwayne Johnson, Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Jason Statham.
Sadly, Furious 7 was the final film in the franchise to feature Paul Walker, as he tragically passed away during filming.
8. The Avengers

The Avengers was a cultural and financial smash hit when it rocketed into cinemas in 2012. The team up film was, at the time, the highest grossing superhero film of all-time.
Although the MCU was already well and truly underway, The Avengers is widely regarded as the movie that kickstarted the franchises boom.

It’s important to point out that this is the 2019, live-action version of The Lion King.
This film was a big step in a new direction for Disney. Of course, The Lion King was a phenomenon when it was released as an animated film in 1994. 25 years later, the franchise was given new life thanks to advanced CGI.
The live-action version will never receive the universal praise that the animated film did, but the box office shows fans really enjoyed it.
6. Jurassic World

5. Avengers: Infinity War

Titanic was a love story, drama and action film all rolled into one. It remains one of cinemas most adored films.
For years, Titanic was the highest grossing film of all-time. Only being eclipsed by Avatar in 2009.
2. Avengers: Endgame

Avengers: Endgame was the final part of the two-part epic. It was the final film in the MCU’s, ‘Infinity Saga’.
The film was an unbelievable moment in time for superhero fans. It was the grandest, most audacious attempt at fitting in dozens and dozens of superhero into one narrative, and it played off to fantastic success.
Avengers: Endgame became the highest grossing film of all-time. However, a re-release of Avatar caused it to be pipped at the box office.

Avatar is the second James Cameron film to feature in this list. It was a huge vision brought to life with the help of stunning CGI.
The half live-action, half CGI film broke all of the records when it was first released in 2009. It would be beaten in 2019 by Avengers: Endgame, before clawing back the record with a re-release.
